RSVP to Arete’s 3rd Annual 2026 Mens Retreat: October 2nd-4th
Join us for a transformative weekend at the Light of the Prairies Retreat Centre, where we will disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life and reconnect with our faith, ourselves, and each other. The Arete Project’s Annual Mens Retreat is designed for Christian men seeking spiritual growth, restoration, and meaningful connections in a serene and supportive environment. Rooted in our core values of faith, excellence, and community, this retreat promises to be a unique opportunity to deepen your faith, build lasting friendships, and find peace in the presence of God amidst the beauty of nature.
As Jesus said, "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest" (Mark 6:31). Let us embrace this time for spiritual development and renewal, reflecting on Psalm 46:10, "Be still, and know that I am God." Guided by our belief in living a life of purpose and integrity, we invite you to join us for a weekend of growth, fellowship, and renewal, where we strive to embody the excellence and spiritual pursuit that The Arete Project stands for.
This weekend retreat includes all expenses paid and features a variety of enriching experiences. Participants will enjoy guided group activities, inspiring sermons and keynotes, live music, and ample time for individual solitude and reflection. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to engage in meaningful connections, spiritual restoration, and relaxation amidst the serene beauty of nature.
Weekend Theme: Men On Guard: Above Reproach In A World Of Compromise.
We as men have the power to lead our lives in one of two ways. Using a candle as an analogy, it can be used for destruction, or it can be used to illuminate and lead others to Christ through the way we live, lead, and conduct our lives. As followers of Christ, we are called for it to be the latter.
This weekend, we will examine God’s Word found in 1 Timothy 3: 1-7. A passage traditionally directed toward eldership within the church while also revealing a standard for godly men as a whole; setting out the character, discipline, and spiritual maturity men should strive toward.
Timothy 3: 1-7; 2 Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3 not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. 4 He must manage his own household well, with all dignity…
The question becomes, how do we maintain that calling and as a result, lead our lives in a godly manner in a world constantly pushing and pulling men to passivity, temptation, pride, compromise, justification, or outright acceptance of sin?
The answer is found in our dependence on God – both practically and spiritually. Through abiding in Christ, remaining rooted in His word, and standing firm against the enemy, we are equipped to accept and maintain our godly calling of being above reproach.
The reality is: the enemy will seek to destroy us as we pursue a more godly life, and therefore, we will explore the reality of spiritual warfare throughout Ephesians 6: 11-17 and the practical call to “put on the whole armor of God”.
This weekend is a call for men to enter into a godly calling for living our lives by revealing God’s standard for men, rejecting compromise, and ultimately setting forth disciplines that aid us in maintaining that standard.
***The sessions and overall themes may be slightly tweaked based on speakers requests and leading up to the actual date but this will form the basis of our weekend.
